I wanted to create this blog about my niece in order to allow people to see updates on Miss Kyndall. I also made it because she is growing so fast and I want to be able to look back see how she's changed. I never knew I could love a little girl so much.

Baptism

Kyndall was baptized on Sunday, May 20th, 2012. She was such a good baby throughout the whole church service which surprised me. Most of the time she just blew spit bubbles to entertain herself. The only time she cried was when pastor poured the cold water over her head because she was sleepy. After church we had a meal downstairs with family. There we took a ton of pictures with Kyndall in her fancy white dress. They came over to the house to visit afterwords as well. That was when I saw yet another change with her. She could roll over much faster now and she started to "talk". When she was doing tummy time she squealed when you talked to her. It was just like she was trying to respond. She seemed so happy! I'd say she will be crawling in a couple of weeks.

I'll add pictures once I get them.

Babysitting

Last Wednesday the daycare Kyndall goes to was closed so I drove up to Salina to babysit. I work at summer rec in Hoisington so I assumed taking care of her all day would be a piece of cake. Well... let's just say I got a few surprises. When she woke up she was in a pretty good mood but it didn't last long. She gets hungry really fast. It never fails that every time you feed her she throws a fit when you try to burp her half way through her bottle. Once she has a full tummy she's usually a happy little girl. We turned on CMT and she loved dancing to the music. It was the first time I'd really heard her full out giggle and laugh. She loves being in her jumper toy thing now. She sucks on the material and then stares at the lights as she listens to the music. Tummy time is now another activity she loves. Now she is able to hold her head up pretty high. I doubt it will be too long before she figures out how to crawl.

I got a surprise after one of her feedings though. Amy just left again at noon and as I was burping her she spit up everywhere. There wasn't a drip on her but it was all over my leg and the couch. I didn't even know how to clean it up off the couch so I ended up having to call Amy. Another thing that surprised me was how she's started to roll over. It takes her awhile but she can do it. She still has troubles taking naps though. Her hands always spaz out and she wakes herself up. If by some miracle she does fall asleep it's never for long (maybe 30 minutes).

I did take her on a walk around the block in her stroller though. We only made it two times around before she fell asleep which was a good thing because she gets hot and sweaty fast. She was content the whole time but refused to keep her little sunglasses on. All she would wear was her hat. Additionally, her hand is almost always in her mouth. She puts everything in her mouth. That includes her bib, her hand, your hand, your shirt, her toys, her burp rags, and her blankets. Who knows what's going to happen when she starts to teeth.

I will be posting more pictures soon. I've just been short on time lately.

My Last Visit

My roommate and I headed to Salina on Friday after class. When we arrived, Amy had just got back with Kyndall from daycare. The first thing I noticed about her is how much she drools now. She's still been sneezing and coughing a little too. When she was fed she now eats as much as 6 ounces each time! No wonder she still has a double chin.

Saturday morning I woke up with Kyndall at about 8. As soon as I walked over to her crib she looked up at me with a big smile. Her expression was like she new something hilarious was going to happen. As soon as I picked her up I knew why she was smiling. She pooped.. and I had never changed one of those diapers before. Let's just say that was a first experience for the both of us. Between me gagging and her kicking, I'm surprised nothing wound up on the floor. She gets really excited when you change her now and she's also started playing with things. They have toys where she can lay down and reach up to grab things. That doesn't usually entertain her for long though. Her legs are getting really strong. One of her favorite things is when you hold her up like she's standing. At times it feels like she doesn't even need your support. Tummy time is something she doesn't really enjoy though. Sometimes she likes to sit up in her bumbo but she only likes it if she can see you or watch the TV.

I had a great time going to see her. When she's in a good mood, she would just lay in my lap and sit there for awhile. She doesn't always like laying down. Now that she has more control in her neck she likes sitting up or standing. Her baptism as far as I know will be scheduled on May 20th. I'll be posting some new pictures soon. Can't wait to see her again!
